Our contribution to the EU mission "Adaptation to climate change"
SpongeScapes is part of the EU Mission “Adaption to Climate Change”. The Mission focuses on supporting EU regions, cities and local authorities in their efforts to build resilience against the impacts of climate change. The Polish, French and Italian SpongeScapes case studies are located in regions that signed the Mission Charter of the EU Mission on Climate Adaptation, thereby committing to strive towards climate resilience by 2030 and receiving technical assistance from the Mission Implementation Platform (MIP4Adapt).
Fellow EU Projects and Networks
There are a number of European research and innovation projects similar to SpongeScapes, all addressing climate and biodiversity challenges. These projects focus on nature-based solutions (NbS) in both urban and rural areas, providing diverse case studies across the wide variety of European landscapes and bioregions. They combine natural and social sciences with digital technologies to better evaluate NbS, identify their benefits and trade-offs, and involve local stakeholders in their implementation and success.

Network Nature helps spread the knowledge and experience gained from all the EU-funded research projects to increase the impact of nature-based solutions.
